3Practice Circle Referee Training

First Referee Training of 2025

Jan 07 . 09 . 14 . 16 . 21 . 23 . 3 - 5p Pacific

Mostly, we train 3Practice Circle Referees in real-time Open + Private Zoom Cohorts

Sometimes, we train cohorts in nine-hour, in-person intensives

Occasionally, we train individuals one-to-one

We prefer real-time training because — as in 3Practice Circles — we relish learning as a team sport

In six real-time training sessions over three weeks, our Zoom-based cohorts explore the secrets that make Circles work. That’s followed by two coached Practicum Circles that get new Refs ready to convene and lead 3Practice Circles — in-person and online — for the communities, organizations, and institutions they serve.

Here’s the Zoom Cohort Overview:

Six Live Training Sessions

Sessions meet on Zoom — about two hours per class

Session 01  - 3Practice Circle Leadership Rundown

Session 02 - 3Practice Circle Roll Up

Session 03 - 3Practice Circle Roles

Session 04 - 3Practice Circle Rules

Session 05 - 3Practice Circle Rollout

Session 06 - 3Practice Circle Resonance

Open Office Hours on Fridays . 12p Central (or by appointment)

We record each Training Session. If you miss one, you can watch the recording and discuss it with the Instructors during office hours.

Where can you convene 3Practice Circles?

You may convene 3Practice Circles almost anywhere … in your organization or institution … in your civic, social, political, or religious group … in your business, practice, or professional association … in your community, school, or neighborhood … in the online 3Practice Circle community that brings people together from anywhere the world.

Three Ways to Get 3Practice Circle Leader Training

Open Zoom Cohorts mix individuals and small teams, running two times a week for three weeks, followed by Practicum Circles. We schedule five or six Open Cohorts a year.

Private Zoom Cohorts are scheduled to fit the calendar and timetable of the organizations, institutions, and businesses that book the training.

In-Person Intensives bring Ref training to your institution, organization, or conference.

One-to-One Training is available for people who, for whatever reason, can’t join a real-time training cohort. Ask us for details.

Some Frequently Asked Questions about Circle Leader Training

FAQ: What’s the difference between Private and Open 3Practice Circle Leader Training Cohorts?

Open cohorts mix individuals and small teams. The upside is cross-pollination with folks from other settings. Right now, we’re training four or five Open Cohorts a year.

Private Training Cohorts tailored to fit the schedules and use cases of individual organizations, institutions, and businesses. The upside, along with your choice of schedule, is organizational focus.

FAQ: Do you ever do asynchronous Trainings?

Yes. Under the right circumstances, we offer One-to-One Training. Ask us about the differences between realtime training cohorts and One-to-One training.

FAQ: What is the Circle Leader Training Practicum?

Following the six-session live Zoom training series, your Training Coach will work with you on a round of 3Practice Practicum Circles and coaching, during which you’ll lead Circles as both Head Referee and Co-Referee.

FAQ: Can I make money leading 3Practice Circles?

Sure. If you take money for leading 3Practice Circles outside your day job, we have a simple licensing formula following your certification.

The license fee compensates us a bit for the ongoing development and support system we provide. And it helps us keep our training fees relatively low on the front end.

FAQ: Do you Train Trainers?

Yes. There are two models for training trainers — one designed for individuals and one for institutions, organizations, and businesses.
