Everyday Discrimination

In real life, there are two sorts of discrimination: Major Discrimination (being assaulted because of your race is major) and Everyday Discrimination (being leered at because you are a woman is an everyday experience).

Research suggests that perceptions of Everyday Discrimination, over time, may equal or exceed damage to overall health and wellbeing from isolated incidents of Major Discrimination.

This two-part inventory of perceptions of Everyday Discrimination is built on the work of David R. Williams and his colleagues at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health.
